Mission:
At Ronald McDonald House, we provide essential services that remove barriers, strengthen families and promote healing when children need healthcare.
Responsibilities:
The role of the Family Services Coordinator is critical to the mission of RMHC because we strive to be leaders in providing excellent care to families. It is critically important to have a key employee in place who can maintain a compassionate and caring atmosphere, as well as serve as a point of contact for hospital employees, guest families, and volunteers. Additionally, this role serves as a positive ambassador for RMHC and our mission.
A Day in the Life of a Family Services Coordinator:
- Check families in and out
- Schedule occupancy of guest rooms
- Provide meaningful tasks and support to volunteers
- Maintain clean and comfortable common spaces
- Assist with washing linens and putting away donations as needed
- Facilitate a team approach to problem-solving
Skills and Qualifications:
- Will have overnight and weekend availability including summertime and holidays
- Must have empathy and compassion to best support our families
- Ability to be self-directed but also work well as part of a team
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability and eagerness to learn the guest database
- Ability to interface comfortably and appropriately with diverse audiences including families, volunteers and donors
- Possess flexibility, patience, positivity, initiative, good judgment, and a sense of humor
- Ability to lift 10+ pounds
- Assist with other duties as assigned
Position Details:
Part-time, hourly employee working overnight and weekend shifts
Only one Family Services Coordinator scheduled to work each shift
Reports to the Family Services Supervisor
